Hey guys. I recently bought a 06 with 63k miles on it. It drives fine but I started to notice a whining sound on startup when the clutch is not pressed in. Its not very loud but its noticeable. In first and second gear it can also be heard, especially when I give the car some gas. Seems to get louder as I give it more gas. Anyone have an idea what the problem is? Someone suggested that it's a problem with the transmission but I'm not sure. Thanks

 

It's when you give it gas? Not when you slow down? If you slow down in gear, the syncros will whine as they help slow the car down, especially in first and second gear. Is the whine you're experiencing the same as that? post a vid if no one figures it out right away

ive come to think all of it is normal, it whines clunks and chatters

 

In first and second gear the whine gets louder above 2k rpm. As the rpms get higher the whine gets louder as well. When I let off the gas the sound gets quieter. I'll try to find time to post a vid. Thanks everyone

 

I have an 06 with 71K and I just notice mind has a whining sounds that seems to come from the rear in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3. I have flowmasters so a video would be had to get the whin over the exhaust. I noticed today that in 1st in whined when i have it has and when I let it coast in gear. I recently drained the tranny and diff and refill them but could it be that one is low?
