i have an 06 with 74k miles and i was racing someone when i heard a loud knocking noise from my engine. i pulled over and opened the hood and it sounded like it was coming from the rear passenger side of the engine. i checked my oil and it was perfect. i had a few people look at it and they said the knocking doesnt sound like its the valves or rods. it doesnt miss fire and i dont notice a loss of power.

On start up it knocks hard and loud then it quiets down on idle but u can still faintly hear it but its not consistent. when i rev it, it comes back. the more rpms the louder and faster it gets.

Would that be a fuel problem or would it still be a valve issue?

 

Anyway, if it is knocking then you have serious problems. Does it sound like this clip?

Mine does the same thing due to detonation.
