Can anyone advise me on the brake sensor/clutch sensor cable routing?
been fighting with a nagging issue for some time now.
the timeline:
2 years ago car would stutter under acceleration. Cruise control would not function (rapid blink) Not frequent on stutter, didnt need CC, so I ignored.
1 year ago the car went into limp mode full time. brought it to the dealer, they diagnosed it as the aftermarket alarm sending a brake signal to the ECU. They uninstalled the alarm and power was restored. Dummy me did not check CC, months later, I learned it was still inoperable.
2 months ago, I am getting ready to take a trip, I want new tires and CC.
Bring car to tire dealer and get new shoes.
drive straight to dealer to have CC checked. A day later they call me to inform me that the CC works fine
. I did not check CC between tire shop and dealer, didnt work before that though.
They do inform me that there is a stored code for a brake sensor. Not a current code, but in the past. They replace the brake sensor as a possible solution.
whatever, CC works, the potential cause has been replaced.
I go on my drive, 10 hours into it, I hit a bump in the road (substantial, but not excessive, this was on a major interstate). CC shuts off, the light is flashing again.
next month Im driving back home and would rather not do 12 hours without CC if I can avoid it.
The fact that a bump was the clear trigger for the CC to fail, and a sneaking suspicion that the tire dealer "fixed" it unintentionally, I am wondering where there might be a cable or connection which may have come loose to disable the CC.
I looked under the dash, found several cables, but all appear to be snug(and I dont think the tire place would have been in there.
I heard there was a clutch sensor cable under the drivers compartment? I took a peek but it appears to all be sealed up. Anything near the tires that I could maybe look at?
CN: any common connections that might get rattled loose causing cruise control to fail.
