also test the battery...simple things get looked over

EDIT:

I know the battery won't cause you to shut off, but just check it at a autoparts store

I'll be able to test it tomorrow, but the battery seems perfectly fine.

It was very hot and humid out today but I don't think that would be the main problem obviously.

Gotta do the typical air leak tests, either a smoke test or spraying something flammable (starting fluid, etc.) in the area until you can pinpoint the leak, then see what you need to fix.

The engines are fairly sensative to idle leaks, since they use the TB's for IAC function it has an inclination to close the throttle completely if there is still air coming in and it can't control the idle properly.

Thanks for the info! A flammable test seems kind of sketchy no? What would you recommend to use for the smoke test?

You need an actual smoke machine, will have to take it to a shop for that.

The spray is a simple way to do it yourself, you can lightly spray different things in the area where you hear/suspect the leak. If you actually get the right spot, you will hear the idle change, so it's pretty simple to track it down. A smoke test requires the proper equipment and still is difficult to find very small leaks, as you are working with minimal pressure. The running engine produces pretty strong vacuum to pull through the leaking area.

What has been said is good advice. I've seen plastic intakes(dodge neon) Blow up before do to a backfire from spraying in flammible liquid. Id use a fine mist bottle with water. Will make the idle drop and is safer. Either way works though.

Plastic manifolds sound like vacuum leak all the time. I hate them for that alone. Brake cleaner works good and doesnt usually cacth on fire but it can discolor some plastics and rubber. Is your idle actually high? Sounds like impending camshaft position failure, but wait for the code to come.

No my Idle isn't high it just seems too low =/

Just a little update for you guys. About a week and a half ago I sprayed both MAF's with specific MAF cleaner and so far everything seems to be.....okay. Every now and then it still wavers between 200-500rpms when at idle. Going to do the spray test today or tmrw just incase so will see how that goes. Didn't spray the throttle bodies just because I wanted to test the MAF's first.

I dug through the low idle/stalling Nissan OEM flowchart. Change the PCV valve, if it doesn't help you have a spare anyways. Vacuum leaks usually cause high idle, not low but the flowchart wants to check anyway. Failing AF sensors, high engine friction are next on the chart. Check for high oil level, restricted exhaust.

Not sure where you are in NY, but my very good friend owns a shop on Long Island if you want to take it there. No matter what the issue is, he WILL fix it. If you want to go that route, shoot me a PM.

Thankyou very much for all of your help. I will check the PCV valve tomorrow and see the condition it's in. You're right a vacuum leaks usually would lead to a higher idle. I'll check it out tomorrow right after work and report back! Maybe one of the Nissan dealerships by me will have one on hand.

Could anyone by any chance tell me where I could locate the PCV valve on my car? Like where it is exactly? Kind of at a loss as to where it is and I know when somebody mentions it I'm gonna say "duhh" lol

Gonna see if I can pick one up today at a dealership or something.

Edit: Would I also need 2 of them?
