Default cooling system malfunction

started with the wife complained a/c did not come on.mechanic said the a/c compressor was not compressing. replaced compressor, then found out the radiator cooling fans one not working the other only working on low speed. i replaced the fan assembly yesterday cause mechanic was busy. turned on ac to check fans and the engine shut down. let engine idle with ac off to get it to operating temp. when it reached temp. no fans were actuated; the engine shut down. Asked the mechanic if he had checked the relays and was told that he had applied DC to the fans directly and the one would not work; ie; the fans need to be replaced and relays where fine without checking cause the one fan was working on low. Contacted Nissan about the problem that seems to be quite common and they said I had to take to NISSAN dealer to diagnose the problem. anybody else have a similar problem? if so, where does the inherent bug lie? It must be electrical : relays, ECU? I've just owned this 2004 350 for a few months. Put 5,000 miles on it. it currently has 67,000 mi. My first Nissan. any clues as to where to look? thanx doc
