Default clutch leaking....?

to start out with, i do not own a Z my boyfriend does, he is super stressed seeing as our university just raised tuition, his scholarships funding got cut so ended up dropping him, and tuition was due this week.... as well as this money catastrophe his clutch has decided to act up, so i thought i would do him a favor and try and help him out with getting some opinions and hopefully some helpful input on his clutch problems. please be patient with me as i am new to forums and not a car expert. here are the issues.
1. clutch started feeling "lose" a couple weeks ago
2. we changed clutch fluid, i think if i remember right, seemed to help a little
3. started acting up again
4. checked where the clutch master cylinder is and it is leaking

should he try and repair it, buy a new master and slave... anyone else have this problem?

its an 03 touring edition i believe, he loves, probably more then me lol

There is a thread somewhere on here that has a link to a master cylinder rebuild kit. It's only $20 or so I think and that it is absolutely his best bet. I haven't personally taken the master cylinder off, but it looks to be suckier than doing the slave or clutch line, unfortunately. I'd say it's a good 3 hour job. Lastly, to make bleeding the clutch a lot easier, get this from Autozone: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=940782_0_0_

What I did was hook it up to the hose that goes to the master cylinder and used it to force brake fluid into it. Otherwise, you will be pumping the clutch for hours. Using the hand pump, only took me 30 min to bleed it.

The master cyl is an easy swap on my '08 at least, i'm fairly certain the 03 is very similar.

When you say it's leaking, where is it leaking from?

This is what it looks like and where is it leaking where the hose for the reservoir meets the cylinder assembly itself. or like inside the car where the pedal is and possibly a internal seal. You can replace the whole master cylinder if you are afraid to rebuild it due to experience. It could also be the clutch line which is the hose that has the metal line and then leads down to the transmission. When you changed the fluid how did you do that and did you bleed it once you swapped out fluid.

IGNORE THE WILWOOD Master Cyliner AND POINT OUT WHERE THE LEAK IS on the OEM one.

oh and as far as changing the clutch fluid i did the turkey baster method of just sucking out old fluid, adding new fluid and pumping clutch. did that 5 times. the fluid was still cleanish when i changed it. i was sure to not let it dip to low in the resevoir so it wouldnt cause air to get in the system. i used valvoline dot 3/4. just thought i would add that tid bit in if that helps any. thanks for any help guys.

Lol you guys are *******s haha...

But seriously it sounds like your master needs a rebuild...pretty self explanatory, replace it or get a rebuild kit....its really VERY easy to rebuild, but just pick up a whole new MC if you dont wana deal with it...gravity bleen the new one and call it a day...
