Car wont start, possible NATS problem
so i ran into the same issue like some of us here, my car would sometimes start and sometimes it would crank and doesnt start. I then remove the key from the ignition and wait about 10 sec and then the car starts up again. I read that this could possibly be the NATS problem im facing. Question is before i bring this in the dealership what is it EXACTLY i need to replace for this to stop happening. Lastly anyone know anywhere that can get this fix without going in to the dealership, i want them to be my last resort.
For complete fixed regarding the NATS you have to get the following to replaced:
1. NATS Antenna
2. BCM
3. Re-Program New Remote Keys
4. ECU (The last thing you need to replaced)
Yes I want to find out if it is possible to just replaced the NATS Antenna without replacing the others too??? But I ask my carshop and he consult with the Nissan Dealer and that's the answer! Maybe someone can tell us if replacing the NATS antenna can fixed this starting problems???

i've read that fixing the antenna before your bcm gets fried can fix the problem. Another option is completely disable NATS. I'm calling around to see if theres a tuner in town that has uprev pro.

That's weird. Courtesy Parts shows that part number is for an Xterra and not a 350Z: http://www.courtesyparts.com/28591m-...2-p-10367.html
In the diagram, they do describe it as the immobilizer antenna assembly:

Looks like it's about $57

After a little more digging, it looks like it is interchangeable with the 350Z: http://www.courtesyparts.com/28591m-...s-p-14015.html
Here's the diagram for the part in the 350Z:

And yes, that is what you'll see some people on here calling the NATS antenna in various threads. For example, this thread is talking about the same part and calling it the NATS antenna (see their diagram and description): https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...ooks-like.html

28591M is a number Nissan uses to describe the type of part, that's why it shows up across different models and years for completely different parts.
The one SparkleCityHop linked to will not fit your 2004 model, I think he accidentally linked to the the one for the 2006-2007 models.
This is the one you need:

Your dealer didn't want to give you the real part number in an effort to keep you from shopping around. Courtesy Parts does the same thing by obscuring the second part of the part number with their own Z33 code. Nissan Parts Zone obscures the first part of the part number with "**", so we get:
From Courtesy: Product SKU: 28590-Z33001
From Nissan Parts Zone: **590-C9965
And from all this, we can deduce that the real part number is:
28590-C9965
Hope this helps.

Sorry, I missed your post with the year of your car. I was just trying to translate the part number Nissan gave you.
Thanks for straightening that out Patrick!
