Default Oil Pressure Gauge

Hello,
I am new to the forum. I have a 2005 base model 350z. We have a love/hate relationship sometimes...I noticed the other day that my oil pressure gauge was reading above 120 psi. Very alarmed at first. However, I left the car for a couple of hours and, upon start, it went from 0 back to the same reading. So, I am thinking the sensor is bad? I googled this issue and it seems that several people were complaining about it. So, my question(s) to the forum is have you had this happen? If so, is it an easy fix (can it be done at home)? Should I even attempt dealing with the dealer? Looks like the part is around $70....not too bad. But, it is the labor I am now a little concerned about.
Any suggestions/recommendations are welcome!

Thanks!

You can choose to drain the oil or not to.

Either way, all you need to do is buy the new sensor, a sensor socket or regular deep socket to remove the old one, install the new sensor, and then refill the oil (if you decided to drain it).

Default 350 Not 370

I just realized that this was made in the wrong area - yes, the car is a 350z not a 370z, duh. We are going to call why stress, zombie drinks, and the internet do not mix!

Hopefully you know someone with a garage or if you can do it yourself. I got quoted 160 dollars at my local dealership. Luckly my brother works at OReillys and I got it on a family discount and did it myself haha.

Thank you. I have not tried to dealer yet and I do not know anyone who knows anything about Z's. I moved to Anchorage from Phoenix....should be enough said, but when I have to explain to everyone (and I mean everyone) what kind of car that is....well, that should give you an idea. Plus, I am picky about who touches my baby.
With the dealers, I am afraid they are going to try to burn me. I am sure I can get the part at a fairly decent price. When you say Ha ha about doing it yourself, is that your way of saying it was a pain in the butt like I am hearing most people say?

Thank you for the response!
