Default 2 Questions - Tire light & cold start

Hi, hopefully i'm doing this right as this is my first post.

My tire light has been on even though I have the proper amount of air pressure in the tires.. What else is the cause of this indicator?

I had a little trouble starting the car this morning .. it started on the 3rd try. The weather was about 47 degrees and hasnt been that cold in awhile. I have replaced the battery about 5 months ago. I got in my car for lunch today and it started no problem. Is this related to the starter or alternator? Thanks!

She's a 2007 350z with 80k miles.

Hi

So did any of the warning lights on your dash light up like a christmas tree. Most probably you don't have a problem. While a new battery doesn't necessarily mean you don't have an starter-coil/altnernator problem.
I used to have that problem as well - on cold starts. The multimeter shows my OEM battery down to 440 CCA. I still get the old girl up and running within a couple of cranks, and all electricals work just fine.

How old is your Z and have your serviced/repaired your electricals in the past? And are your headlamps and in-car electrical equipment working?

Thanks for replying.. i appreciate it. No lights came on at all.. just like you say it took a couple cranks and then it finally fired up. This happed about 3 weeks ago too when the weather again was unusually cold.. but same thing, after a couple a cranks and she fired up too.

I've had her since March '12 and I've only replaced the battery and one oil change (oil change shop). All electrical stuff appears be working fine. But what do you think about the tire pressure light that has been on even though there is proper air in the tires? I was traveling for about an hour on the freeway and the tire light started flashing..

Is that your first long trip? It could be that your TPMS sensors are either not there to begin with or were not installed on aftermarket wheels. Does the digital display give a reading, assume you have that on a 2007???? When I first got new rims, I got them through Tire Rack with new rubber already mounted, so no TPMS sensors. The dash light would come on after about 30-45 minutes of driving. I ignored it but swapped them out of the OEM wheels the next change. so now I don't have them in the OEM with the Blizzaks mounted for winters. ( I'm too cheap to buy another set, lol)

A little disclaimer here - it's based on my experience - I too had trouble with my TPMS lighting up when I pulled out a few weeks ago. Considering my tires never dropped in pressure in almost a year (I keep checking every few months) it was a bit weird.
I pulled in to a gas station and pumped the tires to just over 35 psi (should be okay for most tires). Drove over the next few miles, and waited - voila the TPMS light shut itself off! Although my diagnostic for the problem remains unscientific - the only thing that happened before that was when I pulled out of an IHOP the front bumper took a hammering because of the dip in the road.

You could try it out (worked for me) - however if it still persists a 100$ TPMS re-calibration could probably be in order

The wheels are stock rims (see pic in profile) .. The TPMS light hasn't always been on. The first time it came on was because there was a nail and I was slowly losing air so I had to replace the tire. That was back in May and its been a month since the light has been on constantly. It was the flashing that totally made me nervous but I havent seen it flash in awhile. I love my Z but she makes me nervous wreck!

I am looking to get the TPMS sensors on my tires replaced. I have now twice pumped the tires with air - although one of them is still at 32 psi I belive - got to get it checked out and see if the batteries have died after nearly 6 years.

Mine came on this morning. It is 60 for the first time this year, TPMS says the tires are at 28, my gauge says 32. After a 30 mile freeway drive TPMS got up to 31/32, gauge says 35.

I got home and waited until gauge was back to 32 and filled them to 35 gauge/31/32 TPMS. and have made 4 trips totaling 25 miles, light still on.

How long should it take?
