Was it a Z? Were you able to get it running? If so What did you do?

edit.. (if youe not mechanically inclined, or have no tools, or no place to lift the car etc.. this post is pointless and sorry for your loss for real..sucks. )

OP, water can adamage alot of things.. if theres current flowing.. and while jsut ahving the battery in the car was not good, im sure it blew some fuses right away from the water.,. hence no current in the smaller items.. ABS modules, ECU, Airbag modules have ZERO current draw when not in operation, so the circuits are nto exposed to shorts that way.

aside from that, corrosion of the connectors, rust etc are the concern.. if you can, you need to take that car 100% apart and do it AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.
Water doesnt jsut blow up your sauce, but it does if it sits. You have three things to worry about, mold.. corrosion of electrics and rust to body.. and sediment.

Take out the carpet.. take out the seats, take off all the piece to your dash.. buy a million cans of QD electronics cleaner and pull the mounting points off your fuses boxes in the kick panels and the battery.. leave em connected and spray the crap out of em w compressed air and qd elctronics cleaner ( no battery on your car for awhile btw.leave it out)

you need to make the water go away. Everywhere.
Under the car, in the engine etc.

as soon as its clean enough to really work on, open up EVERYTHING, fluids, trans, rear end, engine oil, coolant, PS, etc.. drain and flush everything professionally.

I mean literally, id expect this to take you a week off work and some solid elbow grease to get started, but you really may not have damaged much in terms of circuitry.. but you may need to replace some things.. try slidegood.

I mean, you have a car sitting there and no ones going to help you pay to fix it.. so some first aid NOW is your best and likely only bet.

Its a car.. its metal and plastic.. a 5 gal compressor is about 140 bucks at horbor freight. .. jsut some advice..not that i dont agree w all of the posts above, but thers no sense jsut sitting there looking at the car when you can at least do all you can to get the moisture out.

Search for that on google.. youll need to drain the gas tanks too, perhaps buy new ones.

I think spending 3500 bucks on a new module , sensors, seats etc here n there pales in comparison to letting a car die for no reason.

JUST A THOUGHT< HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU.

Very well said bmccann101. Also I dont think I would try starting it or powering anything up until I had most of it dried off.

Kind of like a cell phone, with no battery or turned off you drop it in water you are ok if you dry it out, but powering it up while wet......well weve all been down that road.

I wouldn't bother trying to revive the car... It's going to be very costly and problematic in my opinion. Best to save up for a new car and start fresh.

Sorry for your loss.

People please have full coverage.
Agreed . Some people have no brains. Not having full coverage on a car, especially that new ('13), is just asking for something to happen.

Given that even if you try to fix the wiring, the fact that saltwater would corrode the metal in your car is still there. You would have to strip it all down, replace everything.
Might as well turn it into the worlds first 350z boat.

Default flooded g

Im in the Rockaways and my plan is to buy a rearended G and do a complete swap with my flooded 04..too much work in the car to let go for what the insurance is paying..its also not my daily driver..BTW I drained the oil today and the first 10 seconds of flow was 100% water. So I've used 30+ cans of various lubricants and there is no sign of mold and minimal rust..for me this is a challenge

Kwame, how are you my friend??......Unfortunately it is true. Suffered alot of damage to my home, but everyone was unharmed. I feel a hole in my heart everytime I look in my yard. Don't know what I will do with the car at this point.

Oh well hopefully next year will be a better one!!!
