Default Transmission or Throw out bearing?

When the car is at idle the car makes whining and rattling sounds is this from the transmission or the throw out bearing?

Asking around locally I'm told TOB but reading on the forums it can't be the TOB.

The car makes the sound when in neutral and clutch out the sound goes away 100% when clutch pedal goes in.

Normal noises for the Z. Its been covered 1000x its either the throwout bearing (common) or the dual mass flywheel (common) Mine does it as well as everyone else's, sounds like rocks rattling around. Search clutch noise and you'll see tons of threads, with end results being its normal.

TOB dosen't make noise at idle.
Worn TOB = Noise when you push the clutch in.
