While im driving, when I press in the clutch, even if I release the throttle before I press in the clutch, my engine revs up about 200-300 rpms before going down...is this normal, I bought this used 2007 350z with 94k miles about a month ago and it's been doing it since I bought it.
Does it do it at idle also? As stated before check for a minor vacuum leak. Also have you checked your alternator? Just a thought maybe extra load on the alternator is affecting your "power"
Also does it do it after the car is fully warmed up or when its cold? When the cars cold it automatically will rev higher when in neutral or on the clutch.
It's not stock....has F5 Fujita CAI, Stillen true duel exhaust, and since I bought it from a used car dealership they and I are not sure what else it may have.
I have heard of weird issues after installing intakes with people stalling when in neutral and such at highway speed. Maybe the intakes have something to do with his. That would be my guess.
2006 350Z Base, 48k, single owner with all paper so I am assuming he took good care of it..
Exact same problem you're describing, step on the clutch and engine revs about 200rpm... Thought it was just something I had to get used to in the Z.
I checked for leaks and didn't find any....
EDIT: Drove car again (cold, ~28F outdoors) and paid really close attention. Car does not "rev-up" when clutch is depressed but rather hangs at that RPM for an extra second or so when cold. After everything is warm with a few minutes of driving, the RPMs drop with depressed clutch. +1 to prior post, get all over that dealer.
Good luck man..
