Whats up friends of the forum! Maybe someone can help me out with an issue that I am having with my 05 twin turbo Z. If I let it idle for more than two minutes it starts pumpimg out blue smoke like crazy but as soon as I start driving it clears up right away. I have never seen anything like it, clearly burning oil. Broken ring?

 

Bad piston rings, Blown head gasket, bad turbos. thats all i can think of right now.

 

check the drains on your turbos, sounds like a drain issue

 

those were all my thoughts as well. It all started back in september after the car overheated badly due to the fans not working and i wasnt around around to shut it down in time. Thx guys!

 

blue smoke is usually a sign of bad turbo seals.

 

I have decided to just do a complete rebuild before summer. deciding on rods, pistons, etc. i will have the turbos rebuilt if need be. i hate to pull the motor again, there are only 19K original miles on the car.
