Fuel pump?
I would do it this way because that fuel might have been left over...move ur passenger seat up and open the glove box back there...take out the lil carpet and then then u should see a cover with wires goin in...take that off...Phillips or ur fingers should do it if not some pliers (twist the 4 caps 90 degrees) then lift...under there is the fuel pump...first try putting the key to acc. u should hear the fuel pump prime (mayb only aftermarket pumps not sure) but if ur no sure CARFULLY undo the line and itll spill a li fuel...try cranking with it disconnected...it should flow heavily so don't crank too long...if it doesn't spit then ur fuel pump could b out...we will get there once u perform the above....btw I don't think the z has a fuel filter, just a strainer on the bottem of the tank to my knowledge.
side note********don't take off the next layer to pull the fuel pump because then ur o ring will fall out and that's a ***** to put back in...may need a new one because they expand in there so avoid opening the second layer

excellent idea guys..thank you so much..i will try that. How often do fuel pumps go bad? The 2 clowns at the Nissan dealerships here were telling me that they "never" go bad. Probably a scheme to get me to come in and sap my $$.

Alright, we're getting somewhere..my pump isn't priming. I went into the compartment behind the passenger seat and opened to the fuel pump...turned on the car without starting and listened....no prime. I hit the top of it with a wrench...no prime..took off the line and verified no fuel flow. So there's my problem, now to find out why. I was talking to a friend who's really good with cars and he was explaining that the crank pos sensor controls when to fire and the cam pos sensor controls fuel. Is this the same way on our cars..although I'm not getting any fuel so I'm not sure thats the culprit. ***Sigh***
When a car is on the fuel pump is on- flowing. When you turn the ignition to on but the engine is off it will prime for a few seconds to get the pressure up for starting. He is probably meaning that cars with sequential fuel injection- the cam position sensor is used to decide when the injectors open. It has nothing to do with the fuel pump.
Pumps rarely go bad but it can happen. If you verify that the pump is getting 12V and still no fuel then it is the pump. Take the pump out and check it with a battery (without causing a fire).

battery trick might work or u can use a multimeter from the connector to a ground for vdc (volts direct current)...im not sure what connectors control what man lol I just know what I work on...learn from my experience and I had that same problem when I put my turbo kit in because I sucked at life with the new fuel pump...also if ud like u can replace the fuel pump from one at ur nearest auto parts store or something, try not to get it too dirty and if that don't fix the problem u can always return it (make sure there return policy has nothing to do with open packages and what not) we in the army called this controlled substitution to see if it fixes the problem...if u r gonna change it let me know on here and ill get pics and what not...im deployed so I got nothing but time lol

if u do end up buyin a fuel pump I would recommend u buy the o-ring I linked below as it most likely wont fit the old one anymore

this link will just show u what itll look like when u pull it out, the pump is in (17040) which is the pic about three post up of the lil plastic thing

also don't just pull straight up, u will break the little hanger (float) that measures the fuel in the tank. u have to pull up, unplug the hoses, then tilt it away from the center of the car...u should see what I mean once u get there if ur not a brute lol its common sense

I finally got around to testing the wiring to my fuel pump. I read the black/yellow and black wires and found that when I turn the key to on, the priming voltage is present then cuts off. When I try to start the voltage stays constant. So I'm getting power to my pump, however I don't know what the other wires are for. I'm assuming the fuel level float/sensor. Either way I'm almost positive I need a new pump. Any suggestions of whether to upgrade or just get an oem?
