Tried finding a vacuum leak today
Failed miserably
At idle the car sounds like a boiling tea kettle whistling. Sounds like a dying whistling tea kettle when you shut it off. I used some rtv around the rubber gasket on the bottom of the intake manifold and put a clamp on a hose that was missing one on the passenger side valve cover. Still making the noise
Wish I had a FSM but I can't find one for download anywhere.

Well one way to find a vacuum leak would be to take some throttle body cleaner and spray it in a couple of areas where you think the leak could be. If there is a leak in the area, you will notice the engine RPM increase/change in engine sound. From there you can dig further into the situation. You kind of did this backwards by just taking things apart. Ideally you should have hooked up a scan tool and looked at the live data PID's to see if anything was particularly off.
