Default Window Wiper hitting pillar

My window wipers change from where they can stop and sometimes hit the drivers side pillar causing it to take the paint off and also not go down all the way. I dont know whats going on. Are the motors bad or is just something loose?

Its not the wiper blade thats the problem, the motors have a little bit of play that make the whole wiper hit the pillar instead of stopping before the pillar. It doesnt happen everytime the wipers are on but they eventually hit the pillar.

Have you found the fix for this? There seems to be alot of topics on this issue, but no one's posted the fix yet. Let me know. I was thinking about buying a wiper motor to see if it would fix it, but 150 to test is a bit much. Mine seems to be hitting the bottom and top bezel. The wiper when turned off, doesn't go all the way down. Please let us know

I'm having the same issue with my 03. I took the cap off of the wiper today hoping the nut would be loose. It wasn't. I'm assuming it's going to have something to do with worn parts on the wiper linkage. I'm hoping to tear into it over the weekend. I'll let you know what I find.
