Yeah I quote exactly what the alignment tech said "most people we don't tighten these toe bolts as much as we will yours because we know you probably beat on your car a little"

so i will tell him to just do the normal.

so you think when i put the new suspension on, it was just more noticeable than before? because like i said, before the wheels/tires, coilovers, and spc a arms, i did not have the problem whatsoever and i was on tanabe springs with stock shocks, still had the spc rear arms and toe bolts. but was not experiencing any of this..?

Most likely they stripped the washer on your first alignment. They aligned it again and got it into spec, but since the washer is now deformed as soon as you drive the car it will come out of spec due to the play in the washer from it being stripped. Post detailed pic of your washer, and bolt in the washer. You will see a few degrees of play. Play = BAD.

Make sure they take it easy on those bolts. It does not take much to screw them up.

this is what im saying though...

1. Car was 100% normal, didn't feel like this at all.
2. Put car on jackstands for about 2 weeks
3. installed coilovers, spc front a arms, and new wheels/tires over the course of the 2 weeks.

as soon as i put it on the ground and drove away, it was doing this. so i figured it was the alignment. got it aligned and the problem persists, and hasn't went away since.

the toe bolts weren't touched over the course of 2 weeks while i was waiting on the parts to come in and install them..

hope you understand what im saying?

Well, one thing you know for certain is that something is causing your car to not hold an alignment. Your second alignment "original" readings were very poor. Especially front toe.

I would consider slowly going back to stock and see if you can catch the problem that way. Maybe you have a faulty part?

One thing I noticed in the first pic. Are your tires mounted correctly. Looks like one of the "directional tread patterns" is facing one way, and the other tires pattern is facing the other.

Also since this is the first time your car has been "low" you may have torn a bushing. Once you lower the vehicle you put much more stress on these linkages.

Leaning away from toe bolt issue now.......

Just throwing out ideas now.

I didn't realize how off your front toe was on your second alignment.

yeah well front toe would be out because i fcked with the preload on the front coilovers to try and fix the problem.. so it probably threw it out of spec when i messed with that.

but im really hoping its the spc bolts.

If those are "stripped", then every car has messed up adjustment bolts lol.

The lock-nut is doing the job of holding that washer to the car, not the center bolt's flat spot. The flat is to allow you to pivot washer with the bolt against the considerable resistance, but to expect a perfect snug fit there isn't realistic. As long as the adjustment is held accurately while the lock nut is tightened to spec and the result is the proper spec, the washer is fine. The center hole could be round, it would just be very difficult to make adjustments, pry-bars and such like an old truck, but the end result would be the same assuming the person doing the work is accurate.

rear toe would be the FIRST THING I would look at. Hell..just put on stock toe bolts and MAX them to see what it feels like. You should be able to come close to spec unless the car is slammed. I have rear lowered 1 1/2 and stock bolts brought it just into spec. Car is ROCK SOLID and handles like a dream.

Yahtzee. Glad you figured it out. Sorry I was not correct regarding the toe bolts, but your old ones are a bit fudged. I would go toe arms when you can.

You going to tackle this yourself? I wish I just didn't pay the dealer $800 to replace that.

Very nice, although that should have been found during one of the alignments, you cannot get a car to hold alignment if the bearings are that shot lol.

Miles on the car? I had to have my left rear replaced under warranty, less than 30K on the car IIRC. Seems to be a very common failure, usually on the same side.

My car has kinda loud exhaust so I wasn't clearly hearing the normal humming bearing sounds, but I was noticing some weird noises when releasing the e-brake and turning, made me investigate and found it very sloppy, worse than yours. At least mine was free to replace. Although they didn't do a very nice job and left me with an axle click that I had to fix lol.

Replaced the wheel bearing (super easy for anyone who might run into this problem... 45 min to take the bearing off, 45 min to put it on), took her to get aligned, problem is officially fixed!
