Default unknown leak need help (searched)

Hello everybody im new to this forum and I read all the to do's and not to do's if posting. I searched but it all leaded to something else. So here is my problem, I have a 03 touring with 95k miles it runs great but there is a leak by the headers where it bolts to on the engine so I searched the forums and they all say it's the valve cover gaskets, so I checked em and they seem to be fine, I ran my fingers around and along by the valve covers and theyre completly dry..... I know what a valve cover leak is like. I can smell oil burning in my headers when I punch it to high rpms. Please help.

is there any oil on the ground where your car sits? If so, is it toward the front or rear of the motor? Is there a drop in oil pressure? Could it be a leaking oil sending unit?

Just a thought..

no oil leaks on the ground, here is a pic, i ran my fingers thru the valve cover and underneath (where the blue line is) it seems clean. leak is coming from the headers.

Prolly just a leaky valve cover dripping onto the exhaust. I couldn't ever see the leak till we removed valve covers. Does it have light smoke coming up? Mine smoked, but only certain conditions.

if you say you checked the VC gaskets and were dry, and you smell oil at high rpms coming from your headers, have a friend or relative follow you a short distance to see if they can smell burning oil behind you and/or see bluish smoke. if so then you might have bad oil rings. at 95k its highly unlikely but again I've experienced stranger things. if no smell or smoke, best bet would probably be to just replace the VC gaskets...I don't know about the Z but every other car I've owned they been 20-30 bucks each
