K&N Air Filter Install
I know, a child could do it. But here it is anyway for the
mechanically impaired.
Here's the factory airbox.

Unsnap the two retaining clips and withdrawl the air filter
assembly which will look like this.

Remove the old filter and discard it. Unpack the new and
improved K&N filter which looks like this.

Here's a comparo of the two (2) filters.

Here's the air box with the filter removed. Make sure you clean
out the air box after removing the filter (Thanks Dr. Bonz). It will
certainly contain leaves, bugs and the occaisional squirrel.
The filter comes with two (2) self adhesive rubber strips.
These will have to be attached to the filter housing as shown.
I notched mine out with a razor blade so they would fit over
the ribs in the housing.

Here is the prepped filter housing.

Install the new filter in the housing.

Insert the housing back into the air box as shown.

That's it. You're done. Now get ready for an extra 30 or 40 horsepower from this mod.

Nice job. One thing to note here. When you take out the old filter, make sure you clean out your airbox before installing the new K&N. There is almost always some debris (leaves, twigs etc) in there. I know there was with mine.

I am happy with mine, love the part where you never have to buy another filter, just clean every once in a while depending on driving conditions.
Another word about these air filters that use the oil spray.
BE CAREFUL, and do not put on too much oil when you clean and re-oil. I have heard of horror stories of people putting too much oil on the filter.
