Default 04 Headlight Question

I tried replacing my headlights with some through rock auto but ended up having a wire harness plug issue. My stock wire harness is a 8 plug and the headlights I ordered from rock auto only had a 6 plug harness. I did order halogen lights from rock auto, I am now wondering if stock was xenon. The person before me put crappy a/m ebay lights on so I don't know if the stock was xenon or halogen. My question is, does anybody know if there is a difference between the wire harness plug for a halogen vs a xenon light? Is halogen a 6 plug harness and xenon a 8 plug? If it wasn't for the plug these headlights would have been a great fit and alternative to the expensive oem - rock auto was only $110 for each headlight.
Any help will be much appreciated!!
Thanks!

The halogen lights have a 6 plug connector. What model Z do you have?

Sounds like you bought halogen replacements when you have Xenon. The Xenon headlamps are only $20 more.

I have the enthusiast trim I believe - TCS, cruise control, 6 speed, clothe seats... not sure what else to confirm the trim level... I have no problem paying 20 bucks more for each headlight, I just don't want to order the xenon's to find out they don't fit again. I am positive the wire harness on the car right now is a 8 plug harness.

Update - I received the xenon rock auto headlights, perfect fit and it came with the correct 8 plug connection, but now the new issue. The lights do not come with a HID bulb or the ballast, the directions in the box say to remove the old bulb and ballast from the original lights and install them on the rock auto lights. I unfortunately do not have the original lights, so what can I do??? At this time I am just looking to get lights on the car that will pass inspection, can I just put a halogen bulb in and run the lights normal (with out the hid ballast) or do I need to have a hid bulb with ballast for the lights to work? Can I buy a ballast and HID bulb from a parts store like napa or advanced auto? Please help!!!!
Thanks
