Tried tapping into my maps for the new foot well strips. It didn't work. There are 3 wires off the map harness~red black and purtle. The purple hit the red accidentally and now the maps don't come on when on the "door" switch part. it does push ad turn on but the other courtesy door-open doesn't work anymore. So when wires contacted-did it short the board? Checked all fuses and nothing. if anyone could help lmk thanks. Either that or I'll need to purchase a new map board. Thanks

OK. I tried another map light board assembly from another members z and does the same thing. It only turns on when I push the button on and I want it to light when i openthe door. any help appreciated. I tried a meter and the purple wire only reads ~6.2 ish volts. Idk was up or what happened when the 2 wires contacted and caused the tiny spark. I'd assumed popped a fuse but doesn't look like any are blown at all. this is driving me nuts.

I would try resetting the BCM before replacing it, Follow the following steps to reset the BCM,
- Open both doors.
- Disconnecting the neg battery terminal for 5 minutes.
- Re connect the battery.
- Close the doors.
