Default Another Way to Program Keyfob?

I just bought a new keyfob off ebay because I lost my old one. I followed the instructions from various posts that tell me to put the key in and out of ignition 6 times within 10 seconds, and it's just not working. I'm not getting the hazard-blink-of-success. And I've tried a lot of times: fast, slow, medium.

I have an 04 350z if that makes any difference. I read some brief descriptions of dealers turning the key on and off (versus just sticking key in and out and not turning). Does anyone know how to program a key this way?

Thanks

Does your new FOB have a battery in it? Bought one off ebay a while ago and it didn't come with one.

Thanks. I tried the method in that picture many many times. And it's just not working. And the keyfob came with a battery. But if the battery's dead, it wouldn't matter because I still can't get into hazard-light-of-success mode, which doesn't even use the keyfob yet.

Anyone with ideas as to what's wrong and why I can't program my keyfob by inserting my key into the ignition in and out?

Ok, You MUST get in the car, Lock the doors with the lock switch first. Then do the key cycle. If it doesnt work, Turn key fully on, turn off, Remove key, Open door and start over. You have to be somewhat deliberate when you put the key in and out. Too fast and it won't work. DO it slow and fully engage

That's what she said. haha. but no really. I'm in the car. doors are locked. I even locked unlocked and locked. I've done it slow, medium, and fast multiple multiple times. Is my wiring messed up? I have an aftermarket headunit if that makes any difference. I'm not sure if this is true, but I think after installing the HU some years back, when I leave the keys in the ignition and open the door, it doesn't beep. I thought maybe the car used to beep when you leave keys in ignition, but I'm not sure. It's been a while. Is something broken?

When you leave the key in and open the door, does your dome light come on? Does your window drop? None of these worked on my car after flood damage and I had to get the BCM (body control module) replaced, which is also related to the keyfob setup. After they put in the replacement BCM, they had to reprogram my fobs and my keys.

Thanks for the idea, but my dome light comes on with the key in. And the window does that mini-drop with the key in.

So it's probably not the BCM?

sighhh. I don't know why I can't just program my keyfob.

okay,, on a related subject.. I need to know how to reprogram my key so that i can start my car.. I lost one key the other day and found it but, only after paying my local Nissan dealer for a new key and program to the tune of $161.00.. so, if there is a sequence that I can do myself to save some much needed dollars,, I am all ears..

Thanks,
