Default The automatic window adjusting function is not working

My automatic window adjusting function is not working when I close or open the door. It does roll up and down like normal when I use the switch. The passenger side window auto adjusting function is just fine. Is this the dreaded window motor or is it something else.

I did search but I did not find anyone with the same symptoms. TIA

Does it occasionally falter when using it in normal situations? If it works OK normally then the motor is OK. Have you tried the window reset? If it only does it when opening and closing the door then I reckon using the window reset should do the trick

I have constant problems with mine as well. The window motors seem OK in mine. They work just fine with the switches in both manual and auto modes. I have reset my motors numerous times to no real gain. That being said, it's worth trying. It's a bit of a pain to get at the switch but it's not very difficult.

I think that my regulators may be the cause rather than the motors. The window motors try to drop the windows when the doors are opened but they don't go down the way they should and I can push the windows down to the proper level by hand. They go back up fine when the doors are closed though.

The window goes up and down just fine with the switch. It just doesnt drop a little when then door is opened so the window is sitting higher than it should be making it impossible to close the door without hitting the car with the window.

If I lower the window a little to shut the door, the window doesn't automatically go up to seal like its suppose to. The auto up/down feature when the door is open/close just doesnt work anymore.

I will try the window reset this weekend. Any other ideas what this can be?

I've done a lot of looking and haven't found a real solution yet. I even asked the guys at the dealer about it and they said that they had never seen that particular window problem before. The worn window regulators is the most likely thing I can think of but I'm not completely convinced that replacing them will solve the problem. They're kinda spendy and a PIA to replace so I don't really want to dig myself into that hole yet!

Look forward to hearing if your window reset was successful. This is what I think your problem is.

I found out what my problem was. ...

It was the door switch. The switch that let's the car know the door is closed. For some reason that switch was loose. I just tightened it up and now im good. I hope this helps.

Mine do this also... I've had the regulators and motors changed at the dealer already... and the drivers side still seems to have this issue... are you talking about the door switch on the body of the car? on the back door jam?? can you post a picture of the switch and the location?
