Try the ballast. Usually that's what happen.

Like he said it's usually the ballast, mine went out a while ago but I couldn't figure it out and had same problem. Come to find out my headlight wires were hanging onto the front tire and it ate through em... God that was a pain to rewire

I switched the ballast from the bad light to the good light and the ballast and the light turned on so im guessing its not the ballast i even moved the igniter wires that lead from the ballast to the bulb for the light and that wasn't the problem either, lastly i moved the bulb just to make sure it didn't crap out and that wasn't it either, but here's the crappy part I moved everything back to where it belonged and now both of the headlights arent turning on, idk what the hell is going on, my driver light worked just fine even with the "broken" light ballast and igniter, and now that ones not working either I have no idea how to fix it or what could have went wrong, I guess my next step is to buy a used ballast and try that, if anybody as any other suggestions please speak up im out of ideas

oh I forgot to put in that the high beams turn signals and marker lights all work just fine its just the low beams

Man you have the exact same issue as I do.

Bought a new bulb and nothing. Switched the bulb to the driver side and it worked, so something is up on the passenger side.

Havent tried the ballast thing, but now that you mentioned that both of your headlights are out now, I'm scared to even touch it. I don't like riding at night for fear of getting a fix it ticket.

The left and right HID headlights each have there own fuse, this is the first thing you should check. The fuses are located behind the battery. The cover around the battery and the right side cowl cover need to be removed to get at this fuse box.

ok so after trying everything and looking at the fuses, i was about to give up until I ran across another post from 3 years ago, saying that water got into the guys ballast and it stopped working so he used a heat gun to dry it out, so I tried that and it worked surprisingly, I got all the water out let it cool down for a few minutes and plugged it back in and its working ok now

Mapko, congratulations for being dogged and sticking with this until you found the root of the problem. However, water in the ballast begs the question, “are you running without the plastic inner fender liners? If these are not in place, the headlights and ballasts receive a high pressure drenching from water thrown up by the tires.

So you put a heat gun to the ballast on the right side, let it dry then put it back in and it worked again?

Rhetorical question Syner, more so to illicit any more finer details about his mimicking the solution from the old poster of three years ago, but you keep lurking around and being you champ.

In any case, I will try this heat gun solution and hope for the best.

Thanks Map, I don't have either of those tools but I'll ask a lady friend to let me borrow one.

Thanks and congrats on the headlight fix. Take care.

I've had the same problem with my passenger side low beam. Replaced fuse, bulb, ballast & ignitor and still not working. I was told to check the wiring harness, but I'm not sure how to do this, other than replacing the wiring harness. Any suggestions how to do this or something else it could be?
