My question is, why didn't you go through your insurance company?

Sounds like a lot of symptoms but no diagnosis until it's on nissans machine....

Hate to say it, but with no insurance you're going to end up paying far more. Without getting a full assessment done through CONSULT, you have no idea what's wrong. Is it the ECM, or perhaps a damaged circuit in the IPDM, or something else?

It's also now going to be difficult to get insurance on your Z, since records will show the car was not insured for at least some time. Most companies will be leery of taking on a car with such a history, since they have no way of knowing whether some pre-exisiting damage (such as in your case) exists.

I think it (ECU swap) would be expensive. You don't want an ECU from a wrecked car. --Spike

It's not a good situation we can only guess it's the ECU and the work alone for that swap is pricey.
