Default Help please, thanks

Hello, I have a nissan 2004 with 89k miles on it, sometimes when I turn the car on it makes a squealing noise and I'm thinking it has something to do with the belt but I'm not sure if anyone has any idea please leave a comment
Thanks!

You could try using belt dresser on them, but you probably just need to get them replaced.

Dayan, your car has two Serpentine belts. The small one only drives the air conditioner compressor. The large belt drives all the other components and is usually the one that squeals when it loses some tension. (This belt needs to be tighter than you might think).

The typical first symptom is a one second or less squeal on the first cold engine start up of the day. Check the whole belt over for cracks or worn spots and if it’s ok re-tension it. Use the search function for the tension specs and a few novel ways of adjusting the belts. (Note a new belt and an in-service used belt have different specs, as a new belt will soon wear into the pulley groves and lose some of the initial tension.

If you need any more guidance or help, post back, as the guys here are charming and helpful.

Also, the FSM as well as the new belt packaging all state not to use any type of ‘belt dressing’ those are for V-belts only.

My 350z came with a CVT transmission, so it needed that transmission belt changed... Luckily it was underwarranty.

My 350Z came with the Variomatic transmission and goes as fast in reverse as it does in drive, I just love it for fast J-Turns and it only has the one belt!!

Where in Miami exactly?

Bring the car to a shop to have it checked, I usually have to change the belts on VQ's by 70-80k miles.
