Question Weird Smell when I gas it

Just got a new stock catback exhaust installed on my 2007 350z. As I was driving home from the dealer I wanted to test it and make sure no matter how hard I drive, the exhaust will remain in place and everything will functions as it should. After a few goes I briefly smell a slight burning smell. It's not the clutch. Could it be the new cat?

Just curious, what happened to your last exhaust?

The exhaust got rotted out and the flange pipes caused an air leak. However the entire cat was shot so I either could of had a sleeve installed or an entire new cat.

Thanks for the responses you guys!

Oh wow how much did that cost? Stock cats are expensive if I remember correctly.

As with all new Exhaust systems. They have chemicals on the metal that burn off after a few days. Mine lasted three days. Your fine if it's coming from the back. Maybe something else if coming from the front :P

The cat back exhaust itself costed me $1,090.00. + $150.00 for install. I am a firm believer in just going to the dealership. So I'm willing to at the nastier prices in return for good quality service. Although I'm sure I could have found a cheaper way of getting this fixed. And yes, from northern jersey here. The salt is killing my car.

Thankfully the smell is now gone. Good sigh of relief from this Z owner!
