I have had my base 08 for almost 5 years now and never had a slip light come on. And I AutoX my car as well. Spun the tires ALOT and like I said, never so I am not sure what that is about.

I do have steering wheel controls. This is wierd. Am I blind? Where would TCS off be on dash right?

The car also would not tell you if your clutch is slipping with a slip light, as others have said the slip light comes on when you lose traction on your rear wheels the car then cuts power to try to compensate; you can feel this if you chirp your tires when shifting quickly or spin your tires when accelerating hard. The clutch slipping would be your RPMs rising very quickly and you not gaining any speed as well as your tires aren't spinning faster.

Either way something is wrong if your slip light comes on and cuts power in 6th gear, take it to the dealer and tell them to fix that.
Yeah it's not doing that. I don't think it is slipping anymore. I just lose power and rpms drop. Think it's a tire issue. Front tires are what the back should be. I bet someone who didn't know rotated them.

Do you have VDC or TCS? Check to the lower left of your steering wheel - underside of the dash. If you have steering wheel controls, you do not have a Base.

Will check when I pick it up from dealership. If it isn't the base that's awesome!

OP: Your wheels are jacked. You have a Garmin, TomTom? Whats the speed read on the GPS compared to your speedo at like 65+ (on the cars gauge)? bet youre off by 5+MPH. Probably more.

Definitely not a base.

It's okay dealer advertised my base as an enthusiast. Still happy with it. I actually love having no options. Only thing I need to get is a LSD and I'm happy.

Download a GPS speedometer to your phone or tablet. That'll let you verify whether or not your speedometer is off because of incorrect tire diameter.

Where the hell is your slip light? My '08 base surely doesn't have one.

Are you sure you're not seeing the rev limiter light?
