Is this normal? Clutch pedal at high RPM.
Just curious if this is normal.
I've noticed when I rev a gear out (which I rarely do) .. to say 6500 RPM,.. then push the Clutch pedal in , the pedal feels like I can feel the Engine through it to a great deal. Seems maybe abnormal,.. but there is no slipping, no leaking of fluids,.. etc.
I'm running a 2008 350Z with 27k miles on it.. not ragged out (all factory service oil changes, brake jobs, etc.)
Should I be worried about the Slave cylinder in this thing (or master) going bad with this? (Which is not good due to it being in the Bell housing on my year model) thus needs Transmission dropped = high labor cost.
Or is this pretty normal?
I bled the old fluid out and put Dot 3 back in.. but grabbed a bottle of Dot 4 today and am going to throw that in to see if it makes any difference (I doubt it will), but it's a 5-6$ try.
Would running a braided line make any diff? And on this '08, can you even run a Braided line to the Slave ? I ask because I don't know how I'd connect it since the CSC is in the Bell housing? Or is there a connection on the outside of the Bell housing?
About all I can do short of the cylinder replacements is fluids and line changes (if the line can be done).
Then again, it may be just normal... My pedal doesn't stick to the floor,.. or feel spongy under normal driving etc.. So not sure what to think, thus the reason I'm asking the super experts (you guys).
Oh and please don't flame me too bad, I've searched this topic up and down.. really.
Thanks,

No, Transmission sounds absolutely perfect idling. No vibration when gearing down.. at any RPM,.. nor 4000 or 2800 rpm.
The car drives great, perfect .. It's just this "feeling" in the pedal when it's at super high revs and I push it in.
Hmmm well the slave issue is very very common In fact most owners had them replaced even at 4k miles. I would say it doesn't sound typical like the throw out bearing or the window motors.

-- I just dissassembled the entire interior of the car a few weeks ago, and had a good look those
Throw out bearing is as "noisy" as the rest of the 350's I've been around with Stock clutches.
Think it'd be worth getting under there and unbolting my cats (I just put this new exhaust on a few days ago.. no rusted bolts).. and running a SS Clutch line? They don't come with heat shields,.. should I try to find a heat shield of some kind.. As I can only think if the factory clutch line has anything to do with it , it's due to the sudden increase in temps at those engine speeds/rpms. I really don't think it's the line though -- Given it happens so quickly.. Above 4500k or so.. the clutch feels different when you push it in to change to the next gear. Regular driving the clutch feels like it should. Now regardless of this discomforting feeling of the clutch,.. it "operates" fine so far.
I wish Nissan had left the Slave cylinder outside of the Bell Housing like the 03-05 models.. If so, I'd just buy one and swap it out. In this 2008,.. I have to drop the transmission to change the somewhat inexpensive slave cylinder (part).. which makes you think twice about it,.. plus I've never dropped a tranny and am not really set up tool wise/space wise to do so.
If I went with a tranny drop.. sometime later this year -- Would it be a good idea to go ahead and buy an aftermarket Clutch, Pressure plate, and new Flywheel + Slave Cylinder to all be done at once (likely by a mechanic not myself.. considering my lack of specific tools to do the job (and frankly, I've never done it.. Not afraid to do so.. I'd only try to swap my own clutch out, dropping the transmission, etc If I had some sort of Lift , especially the first time doing it.
I'm fairly sure I can just drive the car "normally" and I don't expect any issues any time soon with the clutch or pedal.. Fluid levels aren't moving.. so the cylinders aren't leaking at least.. that's good.
I bleed it out with some new Dot 3.. Then the next day I decided to go ahead and swap it with a bottle of Dot 4.. To maybe see if the higher temp rating made a difference. Haven't "pushed the car" yet to see if it changed it.
Though I can say my clutch feels "better" just pressing it in and driving normally.. It didn't feel wrong or bad before.. but now it feels a little lighter (not air in the system light).. and noticeably smoother. This even possible with putting in Dot 4? Or am I just imagining (placebo)?
