Default ecu reset?

So first off this is a stupid post. Second off i think reseting the edu with my cobb ap would be the same as the petal reset (turn the key on and pump the accelerator like 5 times wait 7 seconds exc) but want to make sure.

I am installing a new camshaft position sensor (driver side bank 2) in my 2007 350z. People suggest you do a ecu reset after you put the sensor in. I have a cobb access port in my car for a tuner, and that can reset the ecu just by pressing a button. Would that work the same way as doing the petal reset or is it any different?

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question...but it's *pedal.

I would imagine (but stand to be corrected) that if you fitted the cam position sensor and then tried the reset with your Cobb ap and it failed to work then you would have to go ahead and do the 'pedal dance'. People have suggested to you that you do the ECU reset after you've fitted the sensor as it would be totally pointless to do it before.

Or just disconnect the battery overnight.
