Seems like an old dead thread, but just for fun, 06 350z, 192,000 miles (No, not a typo) Replaced cooling fans, wheel bearings, and the stock radio and speakers. Needs new rear timing cover gaskets, just haven't done it yet. Other than that..... Original. Owned it for 4 years, bought with 152k on it, so maybe someone else replaced some stuff, but I've never had a real problem with the exception of a cooling system anomoly.

Super old thread, but it's sticky so figured I'd give an update.
'03 350z Touring 109,000 miles. Owned since 80,000 miles

Cam position sensors
Kinetix front UCA bushing
Kinetix front UCA ball joint
Front LCA, compression rod, and shock mount bushings
Rear driver's side brake caliper (seized)
Transmission fluid
AC and serpentine belts
Removed unnecessary idler pulley because it was getting very loud
Bose subwoofer amp
Radiator cap

TODO:
1. Valve cover gaskets (and potentially valve covers themselves) are leaking minimally. I lose about 1.5 quarts of oil every 7,000 miles. Going back and forth on whether or not it's worth replacing them. I'll decide when I change plugs and see if there is any oil in them.
2. Need a new steering wheel. The top of mine is cracking pretty badly.

Dallas Custom Steering Wheels does a great job re-wrapping these. I purchased a botched OEM steering wheel on ebay for super cheap and had it re-wrapped by them. Came out fantastic, better than OEM, higher quality leather.

Here's a LINK for their website.

Not too much. But as far as actual needed repairs:

- Valve cover gaskets(cylinder #6/oil in spark plug tube)
- Bank 1 camshaft position sensor
- Passenger side rear caliper(seized up). Obviously replaced both sides though
- Fuse for rear defroster.. Seriously
- Driver's side window motor
- Driver's side exterior door handle
- Front windshield(Dump Truck kicked up a rock)
- Hatch struts
- Lower oil pan gasket
- Oil cooler ring gasket

That's it. It's a 2005 Touring 5AT that's soon to be a 6MT. Bought it 2 years ago with 70k. It's now at 140k.

not a single repair in 10 years, drivers side window motor is acting up but still working.
so when it quits, it will be the first.

Thanks, the only issue I have with sending it off to get rewrapped is that mine is a DD. So not having a steering wheel will put me out of commission for a week or more.

Dang 70k miles in 2 years!

Did you change the valve covers themselves as well? I heard that having oil in the spark plug tubes means that the inner gasket is failing, which is built into the valve cover.

Yes sir.. I live 64 miles away from my job. It's not a bad drive, just long. Only have four lights along the way. All back roads and highway.. My fiancé and I are moving closer this August. Can't wait. Getting a lil' sick of being on the road for 2hrs and 40min a day.

No. I changed the perimeter gaskets on the valve covers, even though they were fine. The problem was the tube seal. So I used Permatex RTV red and mad skillz to repair the tube seal. Did it to all 6 tubes. 65k later and not a drop of oil in any of the wells.

That's awesome. How many miles did you put on it in those ten years?

Owned mine only 5 years last month. Zero needed repairs. But all of the unseen bits underneath have been changed.

But then again, bought it with 69k on it and it now has a whopping 74.9k.

Wellllllll, I've always had at least one other car as an alternate...

it has 43,325 miles, got it with 7 miles from the stealership.
it is not my daily and i don't use it in the winter time. I drive it to work on fridays ( and when ever the other rigs are running on empty and don't have time to stop by the gas station ) its pretty much a week end car and the occasional trip which is usually on the weekends. the 300zx has the daily transport duties.

Wow. I can't believe that I actually have more seat time in a 350Z than you.

But yeah, I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty as well. My fiancé has the 2006 BMW and our recently purchased 2018 Rogue.

The Z is normally used for fun. I would guess that 80% of the few miles I've put on it had something to do with hills, canyons or Monterey. Heh.

But yeah, since I work from home most of the time, don't drive that much. And when we head out for trips and such, wife's Highlander gets the call because I can load my house and people into it. And on those days I'm at clients, onsite, well, the "daily" handles trips there and to the store...

Current home of the GS Warriors in the background.

You think that's bad, my two Datsuns have had maybe 500 miles put on them in the last two years. Combined. So few that one is going on market soon. Again.

Dan, if you decide to take a road trip to Seattle this summer, hit me up with a PM and I'll help you with the window motor (or a diff bushing kit install, if you feel like you need it.)

Cam Sensors
MAF sensor
Throttle Body
Both front 02 sensors
Oil Pressure sensor
Blown Head Gasket
Fixed ground wires on wiring harness in engine bay
Passanger side lower Ball Joint
Front Sway bar bushings (both)

...And an OEM stereo that refuses to play CDs. I'm just gonna replace it later on.

I had the same problem, hence the Ebay wheel. I see some used ones on Ebay right now for about $50.00. Not a bad deal.

Hey Zak, the window motor works most of the time. every now and then it just quits on me but if i let it sit for a bit it starts working again. Can't say that it has got a lot of use since the car is parked most of the time, but as we all know the window motors will quit on you sooner or later. I should pick one up just to have on hand for when it quits for good, i have changed window motors on my truck and seem to be fairly easy to replace. thank you for the offer and i'll be sure to send you a pm next time i'm up there.

Good 'nuff. I have two spare window motors sitting in my parts bin right now; one for each side. The car's been great except for those things. To be honest, I kind of miss the days when you'd just crank the windows open and closed.

Default Repairs

I've now owned my 2006 touring roadster with manual transmission for a year. Purchased with 19k miles now has 22 k miles. Just some minor normal maintenance by changing oil, wipers, and pcv valve. Nothing breaks!!
