Default Destroyed pulley.

Hi guys,
I had an accident on the highway, running 200 km/h the crank pulley where smashed totally. I'm wondering if this could happen an engine blow, or just an easy exchange? The belt is fine, was not broken.
Thanks in advice for the answer.

Your description is woefully inadequate. No matter the high speed running, it's hard to imagine a situation where a crank pulley becomes "smashed totally". The OEM crank pulleys are overbuilt for even extended runs at redline and the type of loads encountered. If yours was severely damaged, it might mean you broke the crank itself and trashed the bottom end of the motor.

Absolutely right, it was the case as you describe.

Right now should I buy a used rev up, or is it worth to reapir the old one?

One question.
I had a DE engine, to put i.e. a HR is it so complicated as with Rev Up?

you would need engine, trans, ecu, harness, gauge cluster.... not as easy as you think it is

Thank you, so better look for DE.
Blowing wasn't calculated in the budget.

Not to mention the additional electronic connections that the HR has vs. the DE. Even using the factory wiring schematics, it's nightmarish!

Andriano350Z- I hope you'll write a more comprehensive post about what happened to your DE. "Blowing a motor" doesn't tell us much and maybe your misfortune could be instructive to the rest of us on what to look out for, and how to avoid your fate. But please don't give us the "I ran it over 200 km/h and that's why it blew" story. There's plenty of Z owners who've had their DEs up over 250 km/h with no problems, so a good teardown should help tell a story.

Some strange noise was hearable, click click pretty loud.
Asked a mechanic what it could be, he answered a bearing, but was not sure as the cover wasn't taken of.

Many people wrote it was natural for this engine to make more noise on idle.

I remember a situation to overcome a BMW, I reduced 2 gears down, something was strange like a little noise.

After 50 km 350 Z hasn't reacted to acceleraton pedal, 3 seconds later a gigantic noise, everything stopped to react.

Hope this helps.

A video form the noise on idle 4 months ago.

P.S. What are the cost's to forged an DE engine?

I have chosen an optimal option to rebuild the engine with forged parts, in future tt friendly. A used one is like playing in casino.
