maybe 3500 installed plus they get his old engine?
eagle rods, wiseco pistons, arp, acl, balancing...that all would cost about 1500 by its self...then throw in 800(their price) for the block. assembly, machine work, gaskets, gaskets.

but ipp doesnt charge for machining for the hr head gasket and comes with a warranty on the longblock for 4500...and then the short blocks start at 2800....what where we talking about?

The engine had 73k miles on it. I found one on ebay with 43k on it for $1700, $150 shipping.. I dont think im gonna continue with this car. Looking at it, its in really bad condition interior wise like everything needs to be replaced. Suspension is starting to go... but this perticular Z is a huge $ pit I dont need right now. Wanting to trade it in on something cheaper in better condition.

Im not sure which direction to go with this car.. I still owe $8k on it... Thinking of buying a complete engine from a fellow member of this form for $800 and still trying to find some soldiers to help with the swap and keeping it or trading it in after the swap for something bigger. Like a tow rig size for future vehicles that need to be towed to the track.. Ex. my Jeep MJ which im building to be a crawler. I really love this Z! but idk... talk me into keeping it.

It's a z. It's a impractical car with no reason, just like a woman.
It doesn't make sense till you get in one, and then your okay with paying some bills.
