Default Starter woes

Guys..I have an issue that's been driving me insane..The starter is grinding/locking up....
Old starter was doing the same thing, bought new one and installed..same thing....rotated the engine and looked at EVERY tooth on the flywheel...all in great shape..I did notice some "rub" marks from the starter wheel...so it's as if the starter needs to be moved away from the flywheel a few millimeters..but I have adjusted it to no avail....
ANY of you ever had this issue? only started recently..Carbonetics triple disc and flywheel..has been in the car since 07.
Once it starts car runs like a scalded ape..so no issue with driveability..only starting..

Perhaps your losing voltage somewhere in the power supply to the starter. Can be checked by taking the + cable off the starter and check the voltage while someone turns the key. Or you can connect another battery to the starter with jumpers to see how well it turns over.
