Default Drivers door is sticking

Hey guys so my passenger door handle is broken from the outside the little pos plastic thing broke of ohhh way back when.. I have a new handle just waiting for the time to put it on.

Now recently my drivers door is sticking from the outside. Sometimes it's fine but sometimes you really need to pull it hard to let the latch that holds the actual door/lock (sorry if I'm not describing it right) to the metal "hook" in the car disengage. When the door is open and I open the handle like normal you can see that mechanism doesn't like to open all the way...

Is this that same plastic piece failing? I don't think it is I think it's something in the mechanism. Any ideas what to look for. I know those 3 screws holding the mechanism in are a ***** to get out bc I tried on the other door? Maybe just spray some liquid wrench in there?

I have a strange feeling I'm gonna be climbing in through the hatch soon lol

But seriously, when you say the plastic piece on the outside...do you mean the door handle? Unless it falls off (like your pass side) ... I would think it will work.

I have had problems in cold weather with the locking mechanism sticking...some sprays of WD40 or equivalent in the door lock cylinder from time to time help fix my problem.

Hahaha hey I've climbed through once or twice before doing fiber glass work In the hatch pics next time for sure!! Lol

Thanks gonna try some liquid wrench in the cylinder. And the plastic on the actual handle didn't break. The metal rod that's in the door connects to a piece of crap plastic piece that I've seen lots of people break. My stupid ex gf slammed the door and broke mine. Neverthelessshe was kicked out of my baby for good lol

Yeah so D40 did nothing... If you manually push in the lock cylinder thing (part that actually latches to the metal on the car then pull the handle on the outside you see how it just doesn't wanna go up. If you pull hard and fast it goes up a little but just enough to get the door open. I'm guessing its something with the outside handle bc the inside is fine

Any advice guys? I don't wanna rip the door off only to have to order a handle and do it again? Think its the plastic crappy piece inside starting to fail? Just doesn't make sense that it works fine sometimes

If the inside works fine and the outside doesn't work I'd say it's an issue with the outside handle.

Either it's not attached all the way to the linkages inside the door or one of the connections is failing.

BTW, if you hold the unlock button on the fob or hold the key in the unlock position in the door it will roll the window down so you can reach inside and open the door if the outside handle fails. No need to crawl through the hatch.

I had to do that while I had the handle on order after mine broke.

Unless your door handle fails in the winter when your windows are frozen as well! Then you're goin through that hatch! lol

That's exactly how mine started failing. Your plastic piece you mention is breaking/broken. Just replace the handle. You know you don't have to remove the door panel to replace the handle, right? It's a very easy, 5 minute job.

Took the drivers door handle off (should have waitied till the new one came lol) things was destroyed so... Hopefully the new one is here in a two days... I can't believe 8 years and pretty much thought I knew every inch of my car, I didn't know about holding the unlock to role down the windows hahaha so ill be using that the next few days!! Thanks as alway

Hold unlock on the fob or with the key in the door to roll them down, hold the key to lock in the door to roll them up.

I wish you could wirelessly roll them up like you can going down for when you leave them down and it starts raining.
