leaking oil or tranny fluid?
Maybe somebody can help out here. It seems to me that my car (03 350z) is leaking oil out the upper oil pan. ive re rtv's 3 times. and i have bought a new oil pan for it once, along with new o rings. i seem to think now maybe its tranny fluid leaking from there now. maybe im wrong? its a IPP stage 1 motor 0 miles on it besides idle in Neutral. This is the only problem holding me back now.
i did do all new fluids when i got the new motor...could to much tranny fluid cause a leak around the upper pan, or does anyone have any experience or opinions? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I honestly can't tell from that picture if there is oil near the top centre area that is leaking.
What I will say is that for the first 2 years of owning my car I chased a stupid oil leak. Ended up being the o-ring between the oil cooler plate and the oil pan. It cost under $10 and was easy to replace. I had re RTV'ed my oil pan twice before figuring this out.
Since replacing that o-ring, I haven't leaked any oil in over a year.

Yeah I was going to get for sure answer on what it is after work today, and I have already replaced the oil cooler o ring, as well as the 2 o rings inside the upper pan. But thanks for the feedback!
@350zzjoe the oil leak appears to be coming from the upper pan behind that front bolt in the picture above my oil filter. Its traveling down and may look to be my oil cooler, but I've replaced everything there.
