crashed my 350Z -.- now what
Hi guys im new to the car world and i decided to start with a 350z but unfortunately i crashed it only after a couple of weeks. Some idiot cut me off on a high way and i tried to avoid him, lost control, then spun and hit the divider ... its pretty bad. I got a few estimates at local shops and lowest i got was $4500. The back bumper and quarter panel need replacement and one shop suspected frame damage.. i cant spend that much on the car right now and since i dont have full coverage i ruled out my options to either sell it as is or for parts , or getting a shop to do the major things and buying some parts from a junkyard or something and do some work myself such as painting and such ( my friends are car freaks and could help me with that). Now i just want to know what you guys think .. are the estimates accuate from the shop ? And if i do decide to sell the car how much should i expect for it ?? Engine and tranny are good and got 102k on them , wheels are in pretty good condition , new springs, new battery etc. I attached the only pic i had at the moment and will attach some more later
wow I think their estimate is pretty low. I had similar damage on my 05 Z back a few years ago and it was 8 grand to fix it correctly. I don't see anyone fixing that for 4500.
Good luck with everything. It sucks to see this happen to another Z.

I work at a bodyshop bro, and I'm sorry but that car looks like its totaled. If you do fix it make sure you put it on a frame rack and measure it. If you don't replace the frame rails back there and weld it right next time you get rear ended that whole rear of the car is gonna be in your lap. Total bro sell it and look for another one sorry man good luck to you.

Hey now making assumptions is pretty unfair and it doesn't look like he hit a pole. It looks more like he hit a guard rail.
Anyway take the advice of the people telling you to total it out. Quarter panel repair work coupled with frame damage is IMHO not worth it to fix. You can probably find a very decent Z for somewhere between 10-12grand that has lower miles.

I just can't understand why people are driving their Z's without full coverage insurance. Accidents can happen at any time and the cost of full coverage is very low compared to fixing something like that damage.
Thanks everyone for your answers. Looks like im going to listen to you guys and sell it.. now any of you wouldnt be interested in taking it off my hands would ya ?? I believe it would make an interesting project for someone with the time and knowledge.. and if you give up at any point you can flip it and sell parts.. let me know if you know anyone that would like to buy it

It's too bad you're not a car guy, I could piece that chit together if it was mine. You just have to cut out the spot welds closest to the damage and replace whatever pieces are necessary, then go from there. I highly doubt it's totaled, but you never know.

That car is totaled. Mine didn't even look that bad and it was totaled. Lots of places offer teen accident avoidance driving schools, look into one.. The car can be fixed but it wouldn't be worth it. Resale value is shot to hell
