Default Scraped Flex Joint In Need of Info

My flex joint seems to scrape as I reverse out of my driveway, it doesn't happen every time and when I go down it my driveway it doesn't scrape at all. I'm aware that the weave is just protection to the pipe itself am I right? Here are some pictures of it, is there anything I can possibly do to prevent it from getting any worse? I sometimes maneuver out without scraping but I haven't found the exact way to do so just yet.

I just replaced my entire exhaust due to a huge air leak from the same problem. Once that flex weave goes to **** it will leak...

The flex weave doesn't make the seal, the corrugated pipe inside does. If you don't scrape the joint further, you're fine. Practice getting your driveway technique right - maybe drive at an angle, or if there's a particular high spot, maybe you can shave it.

thanks! I was extremely cautious in how i backed out today and didn't scrape at all. All it takes is patience and if patience will save my car, it would definitely not hurt me to spend a little bit longer back out of my driveway lol. But I remember being told the weave was only a cover before also, no leak yet or different sounds so as long as I dont further harm the flex section hopefully I will be fine.
