Ok, so my car has developed a squeal from the rear of the car that is hard to describe. It sounds like when your on a subway train and the squeals you'll hear from when it's braking. This happens at around 2k rpm during acceleration, deceleration and highway cruise, but only when it's on load. Does anybody have an idea what this could be?

 

Ok, so I confirmed it's from the engine. I let the car coast a bit while doing around 45 and revved a few times and I hear it clearly, so I retract my statement about it being on load. Belt looked good.

 

possibly a pulley bearing. i had to replace my idler pulley because of that a few months back

 

Your engine is in the back?

You're going to have to remove both belts and check the tensioners.

 

I can not duplicate the sound while revving while parked. The idlers and tensioner sounded normal to me. I'm going to have to record it when it's happening.
