I swapped the original transmission in my 2003 for a CD009. As you mention, the CD009 is enormously better providing significant improvements over the stock transmission. Of course the synchromesh-grinding (what initiated the path to the repair) was gone.

And, everything else was better with the new transmission:

• Shifting was smoother (less “notchy”).
• Gear engagement was noticeably better (I did not do anything to the clutch).
• Throws were much better (no “searching” to a gear).

I have about 50k on the new transmission, and never had any problem. It shifts as though installed yesterday.

Just had my clutch, flywheel, master, and slave cylinder replaced expecting that fix my original problem. But looks like something's wrong with my clutch fork. Thanks in advance for any help.
