Default WTF Mysterious Dash Crack

The dash on my car has not seen the been in the sun for 5 years. Its been in my shop with a small fan blowing 24/7 in the cabin to circulate air.

I have been doing work on the external stuff....engine...exhaust....

Recently I noticed this major crack in the dash.

Any ideas way this occurred?

Any way to fix?

THX

That's a hard one to fix without leaving marks. How about fiberglass and wrapping the whole piece in real carbon fiber. Anyway what kind of car is that?

see sig.

05 G

Thinking of making a custom metal or CF cap cover that would just neatly cover it up.

It may be a common crack on the G, I would google it a little.

How it happened, who knows, but it sucks.

Just replace it... Easy enough to find a donor G. It does suck though.

Not as bad as you'd think. Do a search for a G DIY dash removal... Someone has removed the dash before. You can probably find the part in question on eBay as well. I've done multiple panel replacements over the years due to damage.

A lot of people believe Armorall cleaning products will have this effect over time.

THX- well I will give this a shot. Sounds like covering it an all with a new material would be the best long term solution?

Wot pisses me off is this dash has not seen sun since NOV. 2008.
