Limp Mode With VDC Off
Hi guys, been searching endlessly to hopefully find the answer to my issue. I have an 03 350z touring vq35de. 145000km.
So to begin, I made the mistake of installing LED taillight bulbs which the first thing I noticed was the car went straight into limp mode after the install just as many guys have experience on here as well. So I uninstalled these reset the ecu and it seemed okay.
However, the issue is still there. whenever the VDC is turned off or even intermittently when the car is just started normally it feels as if it is in limp mode, it still revs to redline but there is a clear lack of power. whenever this happens I can reset the ecu and it will drive normally for the next little while after.
So im just very confused what could be causing this, did running the LED taillights wreck something with my ecu because of the different resistance or what could have happened here.
In that time I also changed wheel setups - square (265/35r18), which I have read can mess with VDC and cause some sort of limp mode however, that only happens with VDC on, not off like my scenario.
could not find anyone else with this issue, getting really frustrating not being able to drive the car fast.
