Default Overheated and will not start

Yesterday evening I pulled out to head to the gas station I'd been driving around for a little while, but I realized I was running wayyyy hot, not long after I saw steam from under the hood, whipped into the closest lot and tried to idle it out and cool off with the heat on but still sputtered out. 05 touring model. I know the fans are a common problem but I need some opinions before I start running through it.

Regardless of what may have caused the engine to overheat, you should have shut it down immediately. No telling what damage may have been done, but if you can describe the symptoms you're having now, perhaps someone here can help. "Will not start" is not enough info.

Agreed- by continuing to idle the car the OP prolonged the heat sink the VQ was being put through. Were the fans working at all? How did you get it back to your place? Have you checked the radiator for coolant level after it cooled? Like a lot of threads here lately, there's just not enough info to offer any suggestions.

It will crank but not fire. The coolant level appeared to be fine and I had a ride take me back afterwards. I'm on my way to look at it again right now. It was burning up coolant bad at some point though
