Default Help!! Traction, ABS, Brake Malfunctioning.

Here's how the story goes. I took my car to the repair shop for a wheel alignment. It turned out that I needed to replace ball joints and lower inner tie rods. The ball joints that were sent to me were not the correct type, so they were only able to replace the old tie rods with the new ones. After the repair, about 2 minutes while driving, I pressed brakes to slow the car down. Between 1 and two mile per hour, with my feet still on the brake is when I felt the ABS trip, almost like a shuddering sensation in addition to the cringe of the brakes/abs going off. They seem to have no clue what is triggering the malfunction. They gave some bogus excuse about the left wheel moving slower than the right wheel which made absolutely no sense seeing that prior to taking my car there, there were absolutely no issues. The other bogus excuse was that, when they changed the parts, they cleaned up some areas and things that the sensor couldn't see because of the prior debris and dirt, is able to see now which is causing the sensor to pick up "things" and cause the car to malfunction. It simply doesn't make sense. I'm really lost and need your expert opinions on what could possibly be the case. Thank you.

There are undoubtedly issues with the wheel speed sensors. First thing to do is pull codes from the ABS computers with an UpRev Cipher, CONSULT or other advanced code reader.

Is it more likely the sensor is damaged or could there also be something wrong with the wheel bearing?

There are wheel speed sensors on each corner. There's no real way to know which one without running diagnostics. Wheel bearings usually have no significant effect on the electronic monitoring. Again- you need to run a code reader, rather than guessing about what's wrong. Any problem with taking it into your local Nissan dealer?
