Default Tranny removal help

How's everyone doin?! Good I hope

Anyways, as the title states, I'm in need of some assistance...

I'm attempting to put the HD slave from CZP in, and I cannot get the transmission to separate from the motor. I have about a 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap around it at times, but it doesn't want to go any farther. It feels like it's binding up on the passenger side. Idk where it could be getting stuck though. Everything is removed except the crankshaft position sensor. Any input would be appreciated!! I don't really want to take it in.. Ha

It usually takes a vigorous minute or two of shaking and shimmying to get the trans input shaft to clear the pilot bushing and clutch assy.

Thanks for the reply guitman32, I think I might have just a little too much angle on the tranny before. I removed the crank sensor, so that's out of the way now. I'm gonna try again after lunch, hopefully it'll come out this time ha

if you have removed all bolts and its not coming free, its because of un equal pressure.
like said you need to jack the back of the trans up a little to equalize the pressure and it will slide right off.

transmission jack is pure gold at times like these. make sure your dowel pins are lubricated and not binding or rusty. once you have the pressure equal. pry at those dowel points.

^ this.

I've done it a few times now on jackstands without a Trans jack and curse myself out every time for doing it this way.

I have a trans jack, and it's a great tool to keep things stable. I'm just having a hard time finding that happy medium where it's equal pressure. I would think, idk if im right, but it would be very close to where it sits normally? I'm up at college right now, so I'm 4 hours from home, but Ill lubricate the dowel pins this weekend, and try and pry it apart. Any other tips?

Open the door, push and or kick him/her out.

Now if you're talking about the transmission, you just gotta jiggle and pull. I had some issues with mine coming out. After a couple minutes of moving the jack up and down and wiggling it finally came loose.

Look and feel all up around it and make sure you aren't caught on a clip or bracket or anything.

You did remove the shifter inside the car correct?

Thanks for the reply travlee,
My dad is going to try and lend me a hand when I get home haha.. But yeah i have about an 1/8 gap forming between the bell housing and motor, so it's moving, which is good.

Hhaah thats good! But yeah, I removed everything correctly. I followed the FSM. I also moved the coolant log bracket up and out of the way. And yes the shifter is removed completely.

Got it out! The alignment pins were binding up, so we lubed those up and it came out really easy. Everything is back together and it drives really nice now. Thanks for the help guys!
