Default cars louder after scraping/banging

i honestly have no idea how to search this up so ill just ask. the other day i was with a buddy and while going down a ramp i scraped/ banged the bottom of the car pretty bad. im lowered to about 6 fingers off the floor plus aftermarket cats. my question is i noticed my cars a bit louder when im around 2700-2900 rpms now. could this be possible i damaged the cats?

Agreed- the only way to know for certain is a visual inspection. Be sure to use a level parking space and jack stands to do a thorough job of it.

Did it sound like exhaust components scraping or body pieces scraping? The two sounds are pretty distinct. If you hit one of the cats hard enough it's possible that you cracked it at one of the welds.

i havnt had time to look under the car. but it sounded like car parts banging down there. assuming my cat cracked at a weld would this be an easy fix for a welder? kinetic hfc

you def broke it, i had kinetix for a while and i cracked them twice... and they stated they have a lifetime warranty, when i called them about getting it fixed they said "it would be cheaper to have a local shop fix it than ship it to us" that really irritated me, i got it fixed and within a month i took them off

Not too sure. I avoided HFC's and resonated test pipes for this very reason; minimizing the amound of welds that I might have to deal with. Personally I'd just scrap them and buy some non-resonated test pipes.

with them taking it out and welding it (taking it out is what drove up the cost) $75

personally am not a fan of test pipes. the car itself still sounds and runs fine expect for when am at that rpm range. $75 doesnt sound to bad for my mistake. id have to look around last time i got quoted was $150 to just install the cats

By the sounds of it you did infact crack the weld on the flange of your cat, lucky its just that.

no idea if this was calling me a ricer or not but my car isnt that low to the ground. i drive about 6500 miles a year which is rather very low. my job and gym are 5 minutes away from my house and 90% of the time i drive solo. i just happened to have a 220 lb guy in my car for that 10%. **** happens

ok so i ran into a little problem at the muffler shop. i am by no means an expert in welding nor do i really know much about it. i didnt bother looking at the cats since i needed a hanged welded on to hold my exhaust up i just went to the place and told them. according to them their is no crack in my cats could this mean the inside was damaged? i have no extra smell coming from the car or any weird noises besides the noise around that rpm range i mentioned earlier. another problem i ran into was they cant weld on a hanger to hold my cats/exhaust up. they said theres just no space down for the exhaust to go up. yet with stock cats they hold up perfectly.

borla exhaust and kinetix cats. would i have to do some weird modification and drill a hole into the chasis and get some kinda hanger in there or was this guy full of it?

where did you want them to weld a hanger? up towards the front of the car, you should have snapped some pics of it on the lift

I can't really answer the question but Im not sure what is making yours hang lower. I also have kinetic hfc's but mine fit just like the oem ones.
Did the exhaust shop say they saw any other damages to the exhaust that would cause the issue?

i just asked in general if they can weld a hanger to raise the exhaust and said they cant do anything. the guy said there is nothing wrong with my exhaust/cats. the OEM ones have the middle bracket that bolts between them holding them up. kinetix cats dont have that.
