Default 350z oil leak from ball on upper oil pan .. Help!!

what sup guys! I'm new to this forum and I just got my z. Very fun car to drive but I do have a problem. I found out that there is an oil leak coming out from the ball on the upper oil pan. Can someone tell me what is his ball use for and can I cover it up with red high temp silicone, or jb weld ? I really want to fix this asap, so I can enjoy driving my z again.I did searched but I couldn't find anything related to this.. Thanks in advance

here is a picture that I got from (rrmedicx). It's the ball that is circled in yellow

How bad of a leak is it? If it's not horrendous then drive it and enjoy it.

Once you start the car, it starts to leak. When you turn it off, it stops...

I have the same problem. Oil just runs freely from there when I start it up. Did you ever get this figured out?

Do we have an answer for this? I have the same problem. getting the feeling that I need to replace the upper oil pan. What is the ball for? Can I just plug it?
