Default Power Seat Issues.

Hi everyone,

My power seat switch for the backrest stopped working. Is there anyway to bypass the seat switch and tilt the backrest manually?

You can jump the power and ground leads to the motor that drives the worm gear to the back rest. Just be careful since there are air bags in those seats. A Power Probe is a good tool for jobs like this.

Thank you for your reply. Where would I find the power/ground leads for the motor?

My back is killing me

I'm sorry if I mug this post but I have a problem with the driver seat switch and was wondering if I could switch the left switch to the right seat?

You’re not going to locate any ground wire as such. The rocker switch simply reverses polarity in order to reverse the motor. Google 350Z factory service manual, it is available as a free download. The wiring diagram will show which wire pairs and at what polarity will power the seatback forward and reverse.

If your seats have optional air bags installed, be sure to follow the directions in the FSM if you have to remove the seat to get at the wiring. This will prevent an error code and warning light.

Thank you For your response. I have the touring with the air bags and rather than take a chance of setting them off I'll just leave it I don't move the driver seat. If I have to I can get the switch to work. I'd rather have the left working good to get to the glove box. Thanks again
