Just got hit...How bad is this?
As long as all of the damage was cosmetic and not mechanical i think you will be fine. If you have full coverage I think you will want to make a claim simply because the quarterpanel got damaged, which is welded onto our cars so it is more pricey to repair. As long as mechanical stuff is fine, looks like you need 2 lights, a bumper, quarter panel repair and a body shop that can blend paint well.
My source: This was my car one year ago

So you think his went beyond the bumper/ quarter and caused more damage?
And my quarter panel was actually not replaced. Being that it is welded on, it was significantly cheaper to have it repaired and reformed. Obviously you need a good shop to do this otherwise it will not turn out well

^^Agreed- the other party has insurance which should cover the $4-5K in damage. You should review the estimate and insist on picking the repair shop if you have a preference.
if the other party is paying, then get a check for the quarter panel thats 4k alone. Either way go to body shop the quarter panel is fixable I've seen worse get fixed. They will bend it and MAYBE use a bit of bondle. The back bumper needs replacement with the lights. I know it sucks getting hit but think about as a comeup. Just file a claim through their insurance, you will save a huge headache and get a nice check to buy goodies for your z - from experience.
a quarter panel is $4k? Insurance companies will low ball a quarter panel replacement, reweld and then blend the paint. You are look at maybe $1600 to $2200 for just that part alone...
Unless you have oem replacement coverage, insurance will replace your parts with used oem or aftermarket brand. Rear bumper with paint and blend paint with the light won't be much, I have seen quotes as little as $600 for rear bumper replacement..
On the high side I would say $3k if all is cosmetic and everything underneath is undamaged.

In my picture below, the most I was quoted was $3400 (all quotes between 2600-3400). That quote included a new OEM taillight, bumper repair (not replace), quarter panel repair (not replace), and paint blend.
No body shops wanted to replace my quarter, they might replace yours because it looks like yours may have folded a little. If you can get a quote that wants to replace the quarter than you should have a hefty check coming your way

it wont be all cosmetic, mine wasnt that bad i just had the ripple in the lower area of the quarter panel, bumper cover, tail light, turn signal and it came to $4300, there will be damage to the tail-light recession, the bumper reinforcement... and who knows what else
I'm guessing that if your car is a very early Z, with more than reasonable miles on it, you could be close to a total. That wrinkle in the panel in front of the wheel means this damage is be deeper than you think. Any problems with opening/closing the door or hatch?
Yeah, that rear quarter panel is not cheap to replace. But, honestly, I don't think it's a total. You're definitely looking at a new bumper, reverse light, tail light, and quarter panel. On top of that, body work/paint.
There's not much behind the bumper (besides the big defense rail obviously), but by the looks of your pics, it doesn't even look like they hit the rail. Here's a pic.

I had a buddy who got hit by someone in that similar spot, and got it repaired with no issues.

thanks for all the info.
2005 w/75K miles. No issues opening/closing the hatch, fuel door, or passenger door. Drove the car back home about 35 miles with no apparent issues...but I wasn't pushing it.
The other driver's insurance today confirmed that they are honoring my claim. I have to schedule an inspection.
