I have an 04 MT. My car started making a squealing noise whenever I let off the gas, it only does it in the 2-3k RPM range. Braking or not doesn't make a difference, in neutral it does not make the noise, acceleration it does not make the noise. I searched and even pulled up people with the same exact issue as I have described but never came across a straight answer. The sound is coming from the rear of the car. It looks like my rear brake pads might need changing so I am going to do that but doesn't seem related in how the noise is generating.
